The National Law Journal

ArentFox Schiff Chairman Anthony Lupo and Counsel Gayland Hethcoat were quoted on the firm’s newly launched Longevity & Healthspan Industry Group.

Led by Gayland, the industry group will provide integrated counsel across the longevity landscape, targeting biotechnology and life sciences companies, precision diagnostics and direct-to-consumer testing companies, wearable and consumer health technology companies, longevity clinics and preventative care practices, and fitness, recovery, and performance brands. The team comprises approximately 35 attorneys spanning the firm’s Health Care; Food, Drug, Medical Device & Cosmetic; Privacy & Data Security; Patent; Corporate & Securities; and Government Relations teams.

Gayland noted that he’s “seen something really take off” as he has immersed himself in the burgeoning longevity community.

“There is a lot of energy and enthusiasm in this space,” Gayland said, adding that “longevity brings together a lot of different stakeholders from traditional clinicians and health care practitioners to folks from biotech, pharma, consumer products.”

Tony said that the decision to establish a dedicated longevity industry group stems from the firm’s ongoing objective of being at the forefront of marketplace technology and trends.

“[…] this continues us trying to keep our vision on the future and what’s coming, and I think longevity is going to be really a dominant piece of the market at some point,” he said.
